2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio
Alfa Romeo is seeking its dominance in the U.S. market with the introduction of its 2018 Romeo Stelvio Crossover SUV, which was debuted at the LA auto-show. This new 5-seater vehicle will be offered in three models, a Quadrifoglio, a Ti trim, and the standard base Stelvio model. The automaker intends to have the vehicle built in Italy with the Giorgio platform being used in this 2018 Stelvio.
With its lightweight carbon fiber, aluminum and magnesium construction, 50-50 weight distribution, adaptive air suspension, and a torque vectoring AWD, this new Stelvio will be a great choice for luxury SUV enthusiasts.
2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Interior
Inside the cabin of the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, some of the design elements resemble that of the Giulia, its sedan sibling. In terms of gauges, the Romeo Stelvio has been fitted with a 7” screen positioned between the speedometer and tach, with the speedometer in the Quadrifoglio showing up to 200mph.
The center stack of the base model of the 2018 Stelvio has a 6.5” display, with the Quadrifoglio and the Stelvio Ti model featuring 8.8” units. All Alfa Romeo Stelvio models will be fitted with leather seats, with the Quadrifoglio variant having Alcantara, and Sparco seats having carbon fiber shells.
The dashboard of the Quadrifoglio model is designed with a multi-layered scheme. The top is wrapped in Alcantara, the middle spots a carbon fiber trim, and the lower section has leather. Also evident in the Stelvio are two small hoops positioned on top of the instrument cluster. The automaker gave the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio an elegant, but Spartan appearance.
The cabin has a marvelous design scheme with its flat-bottomed steering wheel, start/stop functionality, and an Alfa’s drive mode selector. In terms of adaptive safety features, the automaker has fitted this new 2018 Stelvio with a blind spot assist, automatic emergency braking, and luxury features such as a Harman stereo and connected apps.
Physical switchgear is yet to be eliminated in the design of this vehicle as its infotainment system has a rotary dial. The modes available include Natural, Dynamic, Advanced Efficiency, and Race (Optional).
2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Engine
When it comes to the engine performance of the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, the base and Ti trims have been fitted with 2.0L turbocharged, l4 engine capable of generating about 280Hp with a torque of 360 lb-ft. For both trims the transmission system is an 8-speed automatic with AWD being standard. The base model goes from 0-60mph in a little over 5 seconds.
The Quadrifoglio has a slightly different engine specification offering ludicrous power preferences. This Stelvio Quadrifoglio generates 505Hp with 443 lb-ft of torque from its 2.9L, turbocharged V6 engine. The top speed is 177mph, with the vehicle reaching 60mph in 3.9 seconds. Its V6 engine is able to run on only three cylinders to preserve gas. AWD is standard for the Stelvio Quadrifoglio as well.
Not only did Alfa Romeo design the Stelvio Quadrifoglio with better brakes and an adaptive suspension, but this model can as well be upgraded to feature carbon ceramic brakes.
2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Exterior
At first glance, the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio bares some similarities to the Giulia, with its triangular grille and angular headlights most common to Alfa models. It has a strong shoulder line on the side with the angle of its nose being less raked than the Giulia. However, the lower sides appear to be further swept back.
Information on the available colors of the Alfa Stelvio is yet to be made public. With its aggressive front end, rounded rear, accentuated curves, quad exhaust pipes, scowling headlights, and tapered roofline, this SUV has an alluring appearance.

Alfa is yet to disclose information on when its 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio model will be available at dealers, though it is anticipated that it will be sometime this year or the beginning of next year.
